Aquatic Trek
Explore the wonders of biodiversity at Greater Cleveland Aquarium in this specialized guided tour. Venture through all of our galleries, meet hundreds of animals from a variety of ecosystems and ask Aquarium educators questions along the way. Engaging scavenger hunts are available. We’ll see catfish, stingrays, eels, sharks and so much more. (60-75 min)
Aquatic Trek is recommended for co-ops with wide age ranges. For additional program topics check out the School Field Trip page.
Group Size
- Minimum group size 10 and maximum of 45 people (parents, students and siblings)
- Groups of 15 – 30 people will split into 2 tour groups, groups of 30 – 45 people will split into 3 groups
Cost & Payment
$11 per person
- 1 group coordinator is free
- Children under age 2 are free
- Final headcount and cost are calculated on the day of the trip
- Credit cards or cash accepted
Please Note: These rates are only available for guided field trips scheduled in advance. Walk-in groups will be charged general admission rates ($19.95 age 13+, $13.95 age 2-12) and allowed entry pending Aquarium capacity.

- Your trip is officially booked when you receive a reservation confirmation sheet from the Aquarium team

Homeschool FAQs
When is payment due? How do we pay?
Balance due will be calculated on the day of the trip, when we have the final headcount. Payment will be due at the start of your program.
Payment must be made in single transaction. (Each family cannot pay the Aquarium individually). We recommend collecting payment from families in advance, to simplify check in. We accept credit cards or cash. A receipt will be emailed after your visit.
When do you need know the expected group size?
If you are unsure of how many families will be able to attend until closer to the trip, we recommend booking for your maximum headcount. An education team member will reach out a week prior to your visit to get an updated expected headcount. Please be prepared to provide expected headcount of students, adults, and siblings under age 2. This allows us to schedule your tour guides.
If we have more than 15 people in our group, how will the tour groups be split?
We recommend splitting the group as evenly as possible with no more than 15 people per group (including: students, parents and siblings under the age of 2). We also recommend that students are split into similar age ranges, but we do understand that is not always possible. To help pre-plan how groups are split, feel free to use the tour roster template.
When should families arrive? What happens if families are running late?
We recommend arriving 10-15 minutes prior to the start of the program. This will allow your group coordinator to collect payment and organize tour groups.
If late families delay the program start time by more than 15-20minutes, we may not have time to run the full program. If running late, please reach out to your group coordinator with an estimated arrival time.
What do we need for check in? Where should families gather?
Please gather in the building lobby (away from the front doors), or in our program space (if pre-arranged). An education team member will meet the group coordinator in the lobby to confirm final headcount and collect payment.
Do Annual Passholders need to pay?
Anyone participating in the program and following along with the group guided tour should be included in the headcount and pay the program rate of $11.
Are we able to self-guide through the Aquarium?
Yes, families are welcome to go back through the Aquarium and self-guide after programs.
Do you have a space to store coats, strollers or other personal belongings?
Coats and strollers may be left in the program space, but because we might have multiple groups sharing program space, we recommend keeping valuable items with you during the program. To help reduce the number of lost and found items, it is recommended that coats, strollers and other personal belongings are left in the car if possible. The Aquarium is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
Do you offer lunch space?
Yes, there is a shared indoor lunch space, with limited seating, subject to availability. Lunch space can be requested during the booking process. Lunches can be stored in this area during your visit, but we do not recommend leaving valuable items in this shared space.
The Aquarium does not have lunch options on-site, all food must be brought in. There are snack items available for purchase in the Gift Shop.
