First things first: sushi doesn’t have to be rolled with raw fish; it can be rolled with kid-friendly ingredients like peanut butter and jelly, or cucumbers and cream cheese! Your entire family (including the kids) will love it, as it has always promoted inventiveness. In fact, sushi scores high on the “fun” scale, as making sushi rolls is practically like being ordered to play with your food.
The Greater Cleveland Aquarium and Pier W, a landmark Cleveland restaurant that is widely known for serving a critically acclaimed sustainable seafood menu, have an ongoing partnership offering a fantastic dinner series for adults. What about the kids? Introducing Roll With Us: The Sushi Class for Kids, we offer you the perfect opportunity for your child to learn the fundamentals of the special craft of sushi rolling from Pier W’s general manager himself, Mark Kawada. They’ll learn how to roll sushi like a pro with fun, kid-friendly ingredients and of course, they’ll be able to take home their handmade rolls. Meals in Japan traditionally begin with the phrase itadakimasu, (literally, “I humbly receive”). The phrase is similar to “bon appétit!”
